Diagnosis: last simple dorsal-fin ray smooth on hind margin; scale formula 4.5-5.5/21-26/2.5-3.5; 1.5 scales between lateral line and pelvic-fin base; 8-10 scales around caudal peduncle; lateral-line scales as deep as other scales on sides; 7-8 branched dorsal fin rays; no barbels; lateral line incomplete, deeply depressed below dorsal fin; maximum reported size 33 mm SL; dorsal fin marked with black spot at midpoint of its length; black spot at end of caudal peduncle (Ref. 2940, 81282).
Description: small species, relatively compressed body; no barbels; lateral line incomplete with only first 4-10 scales pored; D:III,(7)8; A:III,5(6); P:13-14; V:I,7 (Ref. 2940, 81282).
Coloration: body pale yellow in life; black spot at end of caudal peduncle and another one at mid-height of anterior dorsal-fin rays (Ref. 2940, 81282).
