Description: medium-sized; body relatively elevated; scales radially striated; 4 scales between lateral line and dorsal fin origin; 4.5 scales between lateral line and mid-belly; 3 scales between lateral line and pelvic fin insertion; D:III,7-8; A:III,5; P:13; V:9; last simple ray of dorsal fin flexible, measuring 1.1-1.2x HL (Ref. 81639).
Coloration: ground color brown dorsally, white on flanks and ventrally; scales in lateral line with dark base; black spot on first 8-9 scales, 3 scales with basal spot above; black spot on last 4 scales of caudal peduncle; dorsal and caudal fins ochre basally, grey distally; pectoral, pelvic and anal fins whitish (Ref. 81639).
