Description: dorsal profile slightly convex; mouth subterminal; D: III,8; A: III,5; P: 15; V: I,7 (Ref. 2940, 81282).
Coloration: yellowish-white in life, fins colorless; irregular series of spots forming dark longitudinal band on lateral line; upper margins of scales above lateral line marked with black spots, simulating striped pattern on back, particularly on anterior part of body; small black spot at base of anal fin, better visible in juveniles (Ref. 2940, 81282).
