Description: very small species with slightly compressed body; mouth small, subterminal, protrusible downwards, without visible barbels; no pored scales in lateral line; 20-23 scales in longitudinal series, 20 around body, 8 (9) around caudal peduncle; D: III,7; A: III,5; V: I,5 (Ref. 2940, 81282).
Coloration: edges of scales on back and sides lined with melanophores, forming dark network; small, irregular concentrations of melanophores on scales of mid-lateral series; fine line of melanophores along myoseptum and very distinct black spot at end of caudal (Ref. 2940, 81282).
